Palibex is harnessing the advantages that artificial intelligence brings to the core of its pallet logistics in Spain, especially in the management and coordination of goods movement across the various centers that are in the Network.
Palibex’s Systems Director, Marcos Fierro, highlights the application that AI is having in the sizing of both pallets “by improving the volume information documented in our TMS through cameras and their automatic analysis” and vehicles “because it helps us estimate their needs based on volume estimations.”
Marcos Fierro emphasizes the importance that AI is gaining in improving Palibex’s pallet logistics throughout Spain through the analysis of the enormous amount of data stored from operations and its transformation for decision-making.
What we are looking for is the definition and use of patterns that will allow data to work for us and be able to answer questions that help us be more efficient, such as making transport estimations, minimizing pallet breaking , or relating customers to operators and breaks,” he explains.
The incorporation of AI into solutions from different software manufacturers also provides many benefits for daily tasks. This is the case with the improvements being made by Google Maps with enhanced reality navigation of Live View with AI, which offers advantages to people performing delivery tasks. Another example is Microsoft Copilot, along with its chat, which is being studied for its applications in the organization’s daily operations.
“The biggest challenge is for us to be able to observe all these innovations, land them, and turn them into tangible improvements,” Fierro asserts, for whom technological evolution always represents a lever for improvement and an essential element of competitiveness in the company. The key, in his opinion, lies in identifying those areas where their use can benefit us, whether in fleet tracking, forklift flow and utilization, or dock availability.
