The PBX Dakar Team culminates a very demanding track through Saudi Arabia
Palibex’s team, that has been named “Dakar’s Angels”, has finished dozens of assistances in the rally.
According to Dakar experts, the 2021 edition showed more destroyed vehicles and breakdowns than ever before. This has given even more importance to the assistance efforts provided by the PBX Dakar Team, the team that represents this innovative urgent transport network in the Saudi Arabia rally that just concluded.
Palibex has participated, for the third year, in the trucks category, this time with a 6×6 MAN steered by Jordi Ginestá and Marc Dardaillon. PBX Dakar’s Team Manager, Juan López, has also been present in the race, narrating his adventures through the team’s blog and YouTube channel.
“The most important thing in this rally is that we are leaving with the feeling of not having left anyone behind. We have helped a lot of teams and never abandoned anyone that has called for our help on the tracks”, highlights the PBX Dakar Team. Amongst the teams that have participated we can highlight drivers and Spanish teams such as Ignacio Corcuera ‘Livingstone’, Club Aventura Touareg or FN Speed Team.
This year, the atmosphere and environment has been very different due to the application of preventive measures of Covid-19, highlighting even the small audience or crowd during the podium celebration. Nonetheless, even with this situation, the team is satisfied with having achieved their goal: “Even until the last day we have been rescuing people. While others where already receiving awards, we were still on the front line at the dessert”, they say.
Grateful for all the signs of affection from all participants and big rivals such as the Russians, Juan Lopez summarizes the adventure with the name given to the team during these days: “They call us Dakar’s Angels and they associate us with people that are always willing to help and do a great job”.
Palibex is the main PBX Dakar Team Sponsor, alongside other collaborators from this logistics campaign such as Adarsa, Alerce, Crown, Fieldeas, and LLerandi.
