María Luisa Romero, Managing Director of Palibex, received the Lean & Green Spain Award from AECOC in recognition of the company’s participation in an initiative aimed at achieving more sustainable logistics. Palibex has committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by at least 20% within five years.
The event, held on November 19 in Madrid, featured the presentation of AECOC’s “Sustainable Logistics Barometer.” During the event, executives from companies such as Merck, Damm, Cofares, and JCano discussed the challenges and trends companies face in driving sustainable logistics, the actions needed for transitioning to a new energy model, and the regulatory advances designed to decarbonize logistics.
Palibex is taking significant steps toward greater environmental sustainability by improving hauling efficiency through higher vehicle utilization and reducing traveled kilometers. Other measures include finding more direct routes, incorporating Euro-modular trucks, and using less polluting vehicles.
